Spirit bird series
In the summer of 2007 I spent a good bit of time sitting in my back yard in Chicago, making photographs of birds. Much more recently I was challenged by another artist to take my favorite bird photo, below left, and explore the possibilities of combining it with other images.
The ethereal nature of the original bird photo, above, suggested to me a spiritual quality. To enhance that quality, I made the bird semi-transparent and put it in backgrounds that suggest various aspects of spirituality.
