Work in progress
There are four projects I'm working on at the moment: Wind power, Chicago infrastructure, the Chicago Transit Authority "L" (specifically the Red Line), and Poetry in Motion, showcasing the energy of my 4-year-old granddaughter. The images below are my early efforts.
Wind power
I'm really attracted to those big white windmills sprouting up on farms around the nation. Not only because they are a much needed alternative source of energy, but because they strike me as stately, graceful and appropriate in the great outdoors.
Infrastructure
There's a lot of concern these days about the condition of aging infrastructure and the costs of updating it. While looking at roads, bridges and such, I am finding some surprising strength and beauty alongside the dirt and decay.
Seeing red
I've been taking my small digital camera as I ride the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) Red Line, just to see what kind of images I could make without getting beat up. I plan to stick with it for a while, so there may eventually be enough interesting photos for an exhibit. Or maybe not.
Poetry in motion
For a while now I've been photographing my 4-year-old granddaughter in her busy, frenetic pursuit of life. I don't remember if I ever had so much energy.
Unfortunately, we live far apart; so I can't see her and photograph her as much as I would like. I don't know whether these photos will become a gallery-ready series, but they are a lot of fun.
